by The Chocolate Dictionary

An omen that foretells a chocolate. According to folklore, a nightingale singing with full-throated ease foretells a milk chocolate soon to be melting on the palate; a black cat crossing one’s path, from right to left, foretells a dark chocolate soon to be crossing one’s lips; and a lost glove found on the ground foretells the finder will soon be holding chocolates in their hand.

In William F. Northrop’s novel ‘The Chocolate Prophecies’, an unsuccessful screenwriter jokingly claims to be able to tell the future with M&M’s, then suddenly finds his jest becomes a reality and he’s in demand as a fortune teller.
