CHOCOMEN

by The Chocolate Dictionary

An omen that foretells a chocolate. A nightingale singing with full-throated ease, for instance, foretells a milk chocolate soon to be melting on the palate. A black cat crossing one’s path, from right to left, foretells a dark chocolate soon to be crossing one’s lips. A lost glove found on the ground, as long as it is found outside the home, foretells the finder will soon be holding chocolates in their hand.

In William F. Northrop’s novel ‘The Chocolate Prophecies’, an unsuccessful screenwriter jokingly claims to be able to tell the future with M&M’s, then suddenly finds his jest becomes a reality and he’s in demand as a fortune teller.
